• The exterior fabric is woven from upcycled waste plastic - collected bags are sanitized, sun-dried, manually cut into strips, rolled on a traditional Charkha, and then woven into fabric on a handloom before being stitched into the final product. The entire process is manual, requiring skilled hand labor at every stage.
• Each piece prevents 40–50 waste plastic bags and wrappers from reaching oceans and landfills. Across its journey, EcoKaari has upcycled 5 million+ waste plastic units, saved 1,400+ tons of carbon emissions, and created livelihoods for 317+ artisans - predominantly women weavers who revive India's handloom weaving heritage.
