• The upper body is woven from upcycled waste plastic - collected bags are sanitized, sun-dried, manually cut into strips, rolled on a traditional Charkha, and then woven into fabric on a handloom. The solid black canvas base adds structure and stability to the base of the pouch. The entire process is manual, requiring skilled hand labor at every stage.
• EcoKaari has upcycled 5 million+ waste plastic units, saved 1,400+ tons of carbon emissions, and created livelihoods for 317+ artisans - predominantly women weavers who revive India's handloom weaving heritage through this process.
