Shishu and Chetna are sisters & Mithila artists deeply rooted in the tradition. They come from a family of traditional artists from Madhubani, the place this art form has its roots in.
Mithila / Madhubani art is an ancient folk-art tradition that originated in the Mithila Region (Parts of Bihar, An Eastern state in India, and neighbouring Nepal sharing the cultural bond). Belonging to the family of artists, they grew up in an artistic ambience and inculcated deep love towards folk art. Having witnessed the art tradition in its most authentic form, their work reflects the true essence of Mithila art and culture, nevertheless, they find it interesting to experiment Mithila art with other art practices.
It is a blessing to have such a beautiful cultural heritage and they wholeheartedly want to contribute towards its enrichment. They experiment a lot and create various innovative lifestyle products using the narratives from this beautiful folk art to include it more and more into our lives. The product range varies from traditional wall arts to home decor to one-of-a-kind clothing, bespoke jewellery and accessories. All their products are handcrafted and hand-painted with precision, care, and lots of love. Their motive is to let the products convey the authentic essence of Mithila art while also carrying modern aesthetics well. They hope that their work adds joy and beauty in your lives!
