Kaysglassroots is a result of a long drawn desire to bring back the ancient look of renaissance art, visible in the church windows centuries ago into your homes, offices and outdoors.
Stained glass work is tedious, meticulous with its own old world feel and charm and Kaysglasroots aims to bring this medium to life in today’s time and age. This art skill is usually misunderstood as glass painting but is not so. It requires years of dedicated practice but more than that, a lot of passion and love for the medium."
With a creative bent of mind from the childhood, i’ve always been inclined towards different forms of art. From content writing to making rakhis, soft toys, batik painting, tie and dye, embroidery, water colours, the passion to create handmade items always kept me going. This lead me to study Fine Arts from one of the country’s finest Fine Arts College in Delhi. But it was the art of the early masters and their creations that inspired me to take up stained glass art as my interest and with a passion strong enough to pursue it as a career.
The stained glass comes in various colours, shades and textures. All stained glass work is done by hand. The techniques involved are scoring / cutting the glass, grinding the edges of the cut glass, applying copper tape to the sides of the glass, soldering the glass, cleaning of the whole piece, polishing and buffing. The final product is complete then.
